Photos from Peru

We saw a fare sale to Peru for $300 round trip from Los Angeles and decided to go for it. Why not? We left from LAX and landed in Lima at night. We stayed overnight in Miraflores and then ventured out into Peru. We toyed with the idea of going to Machu Pichu, but chose instead to wander the country and keep our money. We did a loop:

Lima to Cusco (flew, that bus route seemed too dangerous)

Ollantaytambo (local bus)

Urubamba (local bus)

Puno (local bus that was stopped and we had to walk due to the strike with the miners)

The miners went on strike and blocked the road from Cusco to Puno. This is one of the fires that we had to walk through.
